| Search: This button is currently not active and is reserved for a future software release. | |
| Filter: This button allows the user to build a filter selection to be used with the browse or navigation buttons. Once a filter is set, then the filter button will turn red. Clicking on the button again will prompt the user if they want to set a new filter or clear the currently set filter. This is a powerful and convenient way to select a group of records to review as a group and then return to the unfiltered or entire database file. | |
| Browse: The Browse button allows the user to review data from the primary file of the screen into a list of columns of data elements. The order for the list will be based upon the selection in the order drop down list. The list can be filtered by using the filter button. A record from the list can be selected into the screen form by highlighting any element in a row and tapping the enter key. | |
| Order: The Order button allows the user to select the order for the migration keys and the browse list. The down arrow key allows the user to view the list of order selections and select the desired order. | |
| Ascending/Descending: This button allows the user to select whether the Browse List and Navigational keys will process the data in an ascending or descending order. | |
| Add Record: Selecting this button will allow the user to add a new record to the database files associated with the current active screen. Once the user has selected the Add function, then this button can be used to sequentially add additional records. This is equivalent to selecting save and then add again. The Add button is disabled when the user has selected the Edit mode. | |
| Edit: The Edit button will allow the user to update or edit the current active screen record. The user can use the Tab key to navigate through the various screen fields or click the mouse pointer into the field requiring the update. | |
| Cancel Changes: During the Add or Edit mode, this key will allow the user to cancel all updates and revert to the view mode for the last accessed record with all fields unchanged. | |
| Delete: The Delete button is used to physically delete the current active screen record. The database rules will control the deletion of certain data and associated records. | |
| Close: This button will allow the user to close the current active screen providing the user is not in the Add or Edit mode. | |
| Save: If the user is in the Add or Edit mode, then this button is used to save the record and return the user into the view mode for this record. | |
